GOTHOOM OPEN AIR FEST 2015

Gothoom festThe biggest Slovak metal festival Gothoom is ready for its 6th edition. This time, it will inhabit a new place, in lovely area of Ostrý Grúň (Kollárová). With the new location come of course new environment and a breath of fresh air for the fest. The aim at quality metal, support of local scene and a unique atmosphere of friendship will be maintained. One of the traditions of Gothoom is a monothematic Warm-Up day. This year’s opening party will be held on 29.7. and it will be devoted to concerts of pagan and viking metal bands. The list of bands includes WELICORUSS, KHORS, DORDEDUH and more.

Next 3 days will be filled with all the shades of metal provided by the best of foreign and domestic bands. Headliner spots will be divided between two bands. The first one is SEPTICFLESH. Greek masters of symphonic death metal have, with their latest record “Titan”, once again proved that they’re just perfect in combining symphonic elements with strong and hard-hitting metal, not forgetting catchiness and melody. The spot for main stars will be also occupied by INSOMNIUM. Both heavy and fast riffs supported by melodic fills, strong growl of bassplayer Niilo Sevänen and singing of guitarist Ville Friman will definitely create a great cloud of atmosphere hanging above the stage.

The other bands are no less interesting – Canadian leaders of technical death metal CRYPTOSY, legends of the deadly genre BROKEN HOPE, crazy brutal environmentalists from CATTLE DECAPITATION, elusive AGALLOCH with an exclusive 90 minute long show headlining the first day of the festival, heavy and dark OBSCURE SPHINX, Finnish grindcore legends ROTTEN SOUND or representatives of the Italian school of uncompromising death metal from HIDEOUS DIVINITY leave no space for doubts about quality.

Slovak & Czech scene will offer its most captivating members as well, among many others: ČAD, PANDEMIA, TORTHARRY, FLESHLESS, CRANIOTOMY, BRUTE, SUBURBAN TERRORIST, SPASM, DOOMAS or CONTRASTIC. As a support for young and upcoming bands, the festival offered a “wildcard” contest and three bands with the biggest number of votes will be present as well.

Lovely surroundings, friendly atmosphere, unity and great music – that was, that is and that will be Gothoom.
