Colombian melodic black and death metal powerhouse ESHTADUR have officially returned with their highly anticipated full-length album, “In Darkness All Shadows Gone”, released on October 2, 2026, via Rockshots Records. Alongside the album drop, the band has unleashed a striking new single and official music video for “Soy Real.”
Crafted over an intensive four-year period, the twelve-track record follows a deeply conceptual and musical journey centered around mysticism, transformation, and inner transmutation. Previous singles like “Into The Woods,” “August’s Burdens,” “Omen Of Millennia,” and “Thunderground” offered a glimpse into the record’s vast scope, but the full album reveals an entirely new dimension for the band.
“In Darkness All Shadows Gone” pushes boundaries by integrating the raw intensity of melodic black and death metal with grand symphonic arrangements recorded alongside the Caldas Symphonic Orchestra. The album weaves together layered vocals, Tuvan throat singing, folk-rooted instrumentation, and atmospheric passages, while keeping heavy riffs and dark melodies at its core.
At the heart of the narrative is The Crow—a shamanic figure navigating existence, death, the void, and the unknown. Serving as both master and apprentice, this entity journeys through darkness to confront isolation, suffering, fear, and illusion, drawing heavily on cosmic philosophy, occult symbolism, and ancestral knowledge from the opening track, “Age of Antumbra,” to the grand finale, “Soy Real.”
Frontman Jorg August shares insight into the painstaking creative process:”We worked on this material for four years. It is a long album with twelve tracks, symphonic arrangements, a real orchestra, many vocal layers, and Tuvan voices. At times, it felt like a giant puzzle, but everything finally came together. We are proud of the result and grateful to everyone who helped us build it. A crow is calling.”
The focus track, “Soy Real,” marks the ultimate stage of the initiate’s journey. After facing down illusion, pride, and fear, the seeker sheds all masks for total self-acceptance, culminating in a powerful declaration of authenticity and self-realization. The song features a fierce guitar solo by lead guitarist Camilo Barbosa and encapsulates the record’s heavy, emotional, and melodic peak.
The production credits match the album’s epic scale. “In Darkness All Shadows Gone” was produced, written, and arranged entirely by Jorg August. August also handled recording at RockStar Studios in Colombia, with drum tracking executed in Poland by Michal Lysejko (Dieth), and orchestral segments captured by SPL at Batuta’s Theater in Manizales, Colombia. Mixing and mastering were primarily handled by Tomasz “Zed” Zalewski, with additional mixing and mastering by Chris Clancy. The striking cover artwork was designed by Valesia Obscura.
The album also boasts an impressive lineup of guest guitar solos, featuring contributions from Christopher Malmström (Darkane), Richie Brown (I Am Morbid), Hubert Wiecek (Banisher), and Camilo Barbosa.
